I've found this project to be really interesting and it has allowed me to look at everyday things in ways that I haven't before. The ways I've been documenting things that I've seen and trying to measure things that are deemed 'un-measureable'. I've learned so much from the lectures and my research into different areas of science and areas that I was already interested in. My research into mental illnesses that I had looked at in A level has now gotten to be a bigger interest. This unit has helped research areas that I've wanted to use in my work for a long time,
The lectures and workshops of Unit X were fantastic and gave me some great ideas although I didn't actually use any of the ideas that they gave me individually but as I had so many ideas and got so confused which produced my actually project. Which is a project that I'm going to continue to do after the end of Unit X.
I would like to further my knowledge of etching and different printing techniques as so far I have only done three types of print. In etching there are many different techniques that I haven't touched upon yet, I will be trying out the different techniques after Unit X.
A big help in this project has been the many tutorials and crits I've had with my tutor, the people on my course, the people in the other years on Interactive Arts and the people on 3D Design who all gave such different ideas and things for me to look at which helped me. I found that the amount of crits and tutorials has helped and stopped me from being stuck with my work and made new ideas pop forwards all of the time.
This project has let me experiment with etching, I love the process of etching and I would like to continue in experimenting with using it in different ways. I will try and use a table as an etching plate to try and print the scratches that are already in the table as I like the idea of accidental art which has happened a few times in my etching.
