After I had given the white sketch books out so quickly I made 40 little black ones, looking forwards to see what people do with these!

I have given out 39 books, one as a spare as Sophia lost hers! I hope I get the entire 38 back, I can't wait to see them all together. I will make a second batch of books that I will ask people to fill, perhaps the same people but I more different people would be better. The second batch will be a different size and shape. A smaller squarer version? I've decided to make a library! I wanted people's sketch books in the library but I did not want the responsibility of them if anything every happened to them. So I made quite a few small sketch books and I have given them to people to fill so I can put them into the library. The only rule, they must put their name on the front of it. Possible future project? Or a side of the grass one? Drawing the things that I grow? Then I shall have to grow more interestings that just grass! My first book portraiture, I have made it about myself, each page has a fact for each year. The first page has a fact about my birth. I hope to make a series of these and present them on a book shelf. As part of my research for my project I went to John Rylands Library in Deansgate. It was very inspiring looking at the shelves upon shelves of books, I just wanted to look at them, flick through all of pages. These are most of the books that I have made this year, for my new project I'm making books and researching into the history of books. I have used several different methods to make these books but my definite favourite is gluing the pages together and making a hardcover for it and binding them together.
