As part of my research for my project I went to John Rylands Library in Deansgate. It was very inspiring looking at the shelves upon shelves of books, I just wanted to look at them, flick through all of pages. I also planted some grass into a bag, I particualrly liked that it was so easily moved about and how hardly anyone actually noticed it in the studio so I decided to take it outside. I put it on the pathway between my building and the old art building because my studio has the perfect view, I could easily hide in a window and take photos of everyone walking past the bag of grass.
I took the photos of my blood that I look at under the microscope and put them on acetate and onto an over projector. I projected them onto myself and my friend naked. I think the blood looks really interesting on skin, especially on mine where you can see the individual shapes of the cells.
I loved the idea of grass taking over Manchester, so I started with it taking over the studio..
I started playing around with an overhead projector, I put a light bulb onto it and it look fantastic, I then had the idea of blowing a bubble onto it.
